The Pleasure Sessions: The Dabblist

If you feel like you are constantly BEHIND on LIFE and trying to catch up with everything, you are NOT alone.

We all find ourselves on that hamster wheel of “O.M.G can someone throw me 10 extra hours today?”

I am the first to find myself in that spiral. And what an awful way to go through life! Not only do you feel miserable but you are taxing your adrenals and nervous system and messing with your hormonal balance when you are constantly stressed.

I know it sounds SUPER COUNTER-INTUITIVE but the best way to make time your bitch, I’m not kidding, is to slow the FUCK dowwwwwwn.

And what better way to do that then to work with your hands. My dear friend Becca Piastrelli, the woman behind www.TheDabblist.com is the woman to guide you to your Martha-Stewart alter ego. (Or if you’re like me, more of an Amanda Palmer-type.)

Becca’s manifesto is to rid the taboo around the term “dabbler” – and instead to infuse it with a sense of alchemy & wonder. Because she knows that when we bring an inquisitive heart to the process of creating with our own two hands and share stories & creations with each other, we remember the ancient wisdom within. We can tap into what our great great great grandmothers once knew – that given the freedom to dabble, we can be the creators of our own joy.

Whatever your style of creative is, her amazing dabbling experiments will pamper your soul and help you SLOOOOW down. Her site sweeps you into a magical world where suddenly you can make strawberry watermelon facials and herbal bath bouquets. Her site literally makes me want to drop EVERYTHING on my to-do list and gather a few women and make shit.

Which is why I’m so excited to bring her work to you ladies today!

In this interview, we dive into:

  • How working with your hands is REVOLUTIONARY and KEY to our joy.
  • Combatting tunnel vision and claiming your creative flow through DABBLING.
  • How we NEED to incorporate more activities in our life that are not about SPECIFIC OUTCOME and are more about the experience itself.
  • How to use dabbling as a form of meditation.
  • And lots more!

As if her time with us wasn’t enough of a gift, Becca also graciously offered our community a juicy GIFT that you can claim when you watch the interview!
